Near the Ponte Vecchio, in a street right of Por Santa Maria there is a small square with the church of Santo Stefano al PonteThe façade retains its original appearance in the lower part wirh the Romanic portal with two-tone white marble and green of Prato but the upper part was built between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuriesThe interior has been altered several times. The church is open only during concerts.
On the right there is the entrance to the Diocesan Museuminaugurated in 1995, but unfortunately not open nowInside, there are important works, including a table of Giotto, the Madonna di San Giorgio alla Costa.

Passing through a narrow passage in Lungarno Acciaioli between Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita we reach the church of Santi Apostoli. Located in Piazza del Limbo, where once there was a cemetery for children who died before being baptized, the church, mentioned for the first time in 1075, was located just outside the 'ancient circle'of the city walls. On the facade an  inscription reminds that the church was founded by Charlemagne and consecrated by Archbishop Turpino, but there is no evidence.
Romanesque portal is attributed to Benedetto da Rovezzano, 15th century. From the suppressed church of Santa Maria della Porta, the late eighteenth century were transferred here the slivers of stone considered from the Holy Sepulchre, brought to Florence, according to ancient tradition, by Pazzino de 'Pazzi to return from the First Crusade of 1096. The sacred relic is used each year on Holy Saturday to start the fire, which is carried with great solemnity in the Baptistery.

At another side of the square, in the place where according to tradition there were the ancient Roman baths, i "Bagni Peppini"a bathhouse built by Antonio Peppini in 1826 and active until 1912.
